#20 – Quick Training Ideas for Cleaning Technicians

Cleaning business owners have a challenge because employees oftentimes get bored and have a hard time staying motivated.  They eventually start slacking on the job and they may even compromise their own safety because they just don’t care that much. Before you know it, the quality of work suffers and you lose employees because they’re no longer engaged in their job.

This episode offers quick training ideas that will keep your employees engaged and motivated!

This episode is made possible by Dick Ollek and his new book, “The Do’s and Don’ts of Contract Cleaning from one who DID and DIDN’T“. Whether you’re thinking about entering the contract cleaning business, have a young company that may be struggling to get to the next level, or have a mature organization that may need to look at things in a different light, this book is for you! From naming your company to selling your company, this book covers all the bases.

Please share your thoughts on keeping employees motivated by posting your comments below. And if you have additional ideas for short training sessions for cleaning technicians post those too!

  1. John Trimper says:

What has worked best for me is; I do monthly walk-through inspections at each customer location. I do not let them know exactly what day I am coming in. I also give performance bonuses. The bonus is not huge, but it shows them that I appreciate their constant efforts.
